An electrical device which is used to transfer electrical energy from one alternating current circuit to another alternating current circuit by stepping-up or stepping-down the voltage level. Alternating current voltage level can be changed by using transformers, on base of changing voltage level transformers can be classified as Step-up or Step down types depending on weather they increase the voltage or decrease the voltage levels. A transformer consist of multiple components, each component has its own value in the overall performance of the transformer.
